The measuring carriage AMSABS 3L with absolute measuring reading head runs over rail butt-joints without loosing the signal.
It is suitable for use in particularly long axes, but at the same time has the advantages of absolute measurement.
AMSABS 3L – the product for all lengths – is now possible thanks to the mechanical and metrological precision of the measuring rail assemblies. The special design of the rail joints combined with the AMSABS 3L read head means that the joints can be traversed and measuring axes of any length can be constructed.
The maximum length of a single-piece profiled guideway is six meters. But if required, several MONORAILS can be joined together

With the MONORAIL AMSABS 4B, SCHNEEBERGER provides an integrated measuring system for absoulte distance measurement for use in automation engineering, mechanical handling technology and machine tool engineering, whereby high force absorption and precise distance measurements are required in small assembly spaces. From a mechanical point of view, the AMSABS 4B is based on the MONORAIL BM roller guide up to a length of 6m. The AMSA 4B is the starting point for this product. The section rails are thus identical and are compatible with both AMSA 4B and AMSD 4B.
The AMSD 4B version has an incremental, digital interface and a range of reading head options that permit different resolutions and allow the system to be adapted to control systems with different input frequencies.

MONORAIL AMSA 4B is an integrated magneto-resistive measuring system for distance measurement based on the MONORAIL BM profile ball guideway with an analog voltage interface. These products are preferred for use in applications that make major demands on travelling speed and accuracy. No additional assembly or adjustment of the measuring system is required, which is reflected by cost savings in machine design, manufacture and servicing.
The accuracy and process reliability of the machine are also improved. The sturdy housing for the read-head has a complete wiper system consisting of longitudinal and cross wipers, which provide optimum protection for the measuring system. The AMSA 4B version has an analog voltage interface of 1 Vss for connection to all standard control systems.

SCHNEEBERGER’s AMSA 3B MONORAIL is an integrated measuring system for distance measurement for use on all protected machine tool axes with high demands on system precision. Mechanically the AMSA 3B is based on SCHNEEBERGER’s MR MONORAIL roller guide with lengths up to 6 metres. The integration of the measurement system allows very compact axes to be put together.
An analog 1Vss (200 μm signal period) interface, with different cable lengths, is available as the interface with the control system. Combined with SCHNEEBERGER’s SMEa interpolation electronics, very high-resolution and fast digital signals can be provided. Reference marks can be set at 50mm intervals or distance coded.
Different options for carriage lubrication and sealing permit the best possible degree of adaptation to application requirements. The easily interchangeable reading head is identical for all sizes.
